The Beautiful Flowers Of Ukraine
More than 50% of the land in Ukraine is cultivatable, and 18% is wooded. Full of rich plains, Ukraine has a moderate climate, with a more Mediterranean climate on the Crimean coast. The western and northern regions receive the most precipitation, and summers range from warm to oppressive in the south. With such geographical and weather conditions, Ukraine is home to numerous flowers, both native and imported.
Hollyhocks make up about 60 species of flowers that are native to middle and southern Asia. They are common as ornamental garden flowers, and are usually found in hues of dark purple, red, and white, with wild versions often including other colors. Hollyhocks are resistant to harsh conditions, and thrive in sunny locations where other flowers may die.
The morning glory is another flowering plant native to Ukraine. They grow easily even in poor or parched soils, and make excellent vines for creating shade in the summer. Morning glories grow rapidly, twine readily around lattices, and have intense blossoms that bloom only once. Find out more!
